MICHELLE A. RICE
Michelle A. Rice, a member of the firm, received her B.A. (magna cum laude) in Political Science from Boston University in 1983 and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986, where she was an Articles and Notes Editor and member of the American Criminal Law Review.
A former counsel of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, LLP, where she practiced for 13 years, Ms. Rice has broad-based trial and appellate litigation expertise, covering a wide range of complex commercial, securities, employment and matrimonial matters. In addition, Ms. Rice has had extensive experience in international and domestic commercial arbitration proceedings as well as in white collar criminal cases and investigations. In 1992, she also served as Associate Counsel in a United States Senate investigation of unauthorized disclosures of nonpublic information in connection with the Supreme Court nomination of Clarence Thomas and the Senate Ethics Committee investigation of the "Keating Five," where she co-authored the "Report of Temporary Special Independent Counsel Pursuant to Senate Resolution 202." Ms. Rice is admitted to practice in New York and California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Central and Northern Districts of California. She joined the firm in the fall of 1999.
