Crafting the Defense to a Client's Specific Needs

An effective defense of a business crime case must reflect the case’s unique nature. Some cases require forcefully testing the government's evidence at trial; others call for equally vigorous negotiation. We believe that in every instance, the defense must be crafted to fit the needs of the particular client and the larger context of the case.

Fighting for the Client's Interests

Stanley S. Arkin has earned a well-deserved reputation as a fighter, willing to go to war for his clients. Lead counsel in some of the most significant business crime cases of the last twenty years, he defended a financial printer in the first insider trading prosecution and won a ground-breaking decision in the U.S. Supreme Court. In the well known "Yuppie Five" prosecution, he won an acquittal of a trader charged with insider trading. In the landmark case of the former head of the Government Trading Desk at a major investment bank, Mr. Arkin challenged a government effort to back away from a favorable negotiated settlement and won court enforcement of a plea agreement. He also won a dismissal of insider trading charges brought against an executive of a major investment bank.

Mr. Arkin’s history of successes is one reason defendants in prominent business crime cases so frequently turn to Arkin Kaplan Rice for help; another is our reputation for tenaciously protecting our clients' interests.
